A car without music is about the same as a feature film without musical accompaniment. We are so accustomed to how the "frames" behind the glass of a racing car are replaced by our favorite melodies, songs and rhythms that we can no longer imagine our car without an audio system.

Therefore, everyone wants to go not only with a breeze, but also with music. And at the same time, the music should be of the highest quality. And in order for it to be such, it is necessary to correctly choose such an audio system that would correspond exactly to your car.

Those motorists who wish to purchase a new audio system in their car need to decide for what purpose they needed this device. All drivers may have different preferences and different vehicles, which means that the audio system must be chosen with these personalities in mind.

Types of acoustic systems for a car

In order for an audio system to be of high quality, the correct choice of a good amplifier, a reliable radio tape recorder and suitable speakers is of great importance. Themselves acoustic audio systems are divided into two main categories: coaxial and component.

Component systems most popular because they give better sounding music than coaxial.

The component system allows you to connect a whole group of loudspeakers that can be distributed in the vehicle interior. If set up correctly, the stereo effect will be so impressive that you can distinguish between the parts of individual musical instruments and vocalists.

The most basic component loudspeaker systems consist of at least four speakers: one pair of speakers produces high frequencies, the other operates at low frequencies. These speakers are inexpensive, but they reproduce sound of very good quality.

More sophisticated and expensive component audio systems are also equipped with a subwoofer - an additional speaker for reproducing sound at the lowest frequencies. This speaker provides better sound quality.

Coaxial audio system It differs from the component one primarily in that all loudspeakers of different frequencies are installed in one speaker. Often, coaxial audio systems are made as one large speaker, with smaller speakers inside it.

A coaxial audio system is inexpensive and easy to connect, but despite this, such systems are becoming less popular, mainly due to the poor sound quality. Basically, such acoustics are installed in trucks, in city minibuses or in cheap cars that are used for rough needs.

In order to objectively choose the audio system that suits you best, you need to choose the power and the sound quality that suit you best.

According to the sound quality, acoustic equipment is divided into several types:

  1. Simplified audio system. Such a system will satisfy precisely those motorists who are unpretentious in terms of power and quality of the reproduced sound. They are only interested in the general quiet background music while driving. Such acoustic equipment is the most inexpensive of all the components and usually consists of two large speakers located in the back and several speakers in the front. These front speakers are often combined into one, much like a coaxial system.
  2. Medium type audio system. It should be selected if the driver prefers the reproduction of powerful sound. In this case, it becomes necessary to install several loudspeakers in front of the car, among which high frequency loudspeakers are required. If you choose this system, you do not need to change the rear speakers. You can leave the usual "pancakes" behind, because the bulk of the sound will go to the front speakers.
  3. Sophisticated audio system Installation of such a speaker system is appropriate if the owner of the car prefers clear and powerful sound in a wide range. This system is quite expensive and difficult to install. If you decide to purchase just such an audio system, then you will have to install special noise insulation in the car, otherwise all the sounds associated with the operation of the car will negatively affect the sound quality.

A high-quality audio system is assembled from a large number of speakers of different frequencies. A prerequisite for these systems is the installation of a subwoofer as well as an amplifier. The quality of the sound reproduced will depend on how you position the speakers inside the car. Thus, separate loudspeakers are mounted in front of the cabin, which reproduce mid-frequency and high-frequency sounds. Low-frequency sounds are produced by loudspeakers installed in the rear of the car. Since the signal of all speakers is passed through the amplifier, they must have more power.

Recommendations for choosing an audio system

So, you've already figured out what type of audio system you need, based on the sound quality that suits you. Now it was the turn to choose directly the model of the speaker system, taking into account the method of its installation.

There is a tried and true rule: the more complex the purchased audio system, the more significant becomes the reliability and popularity of the brand in the eyes of buyers. That is, if you decide to purchase a simple and inexpensive acoustics, you need to understand that the production of such equipment does not cause any special technological difficulties. Therefore, when purchasing such equipment, you should not think too much about the rating of the manufacturer.

But if you are thinking of buying a high-class, sophisticated audio system, then in this case you should look at such well-known companies that have established themselves as quality manufacturers in order to avoid defective goods. You can pay attention to brands such as Focal, Morel, DLS, Infinity, Alpine, Hertz.

When purchasing an audio system, consider the design of the speaker suspension. To ensure higher reliability, the gimbal is manufactured from specialized rubber. In doing so, do not forget that the low frequency loudspeakers are installed in the rear of the car, and the tweeters are installed in the front.

It is best to choose loudspeakers for the car with silk diffusers - in this case, the sound will be much better. The speakers themselves strive to choose the largest possible size, taking into account the capacity of the car's interior.

Sometimes car enthusiasts try to install the audio system in the car on their own. But if you don't know much about it, it is better not to do it. In this case, experts will help you correctly install the speaker system and adjust the sound.

Sometimes, in order to install an expensive, complex audio system, there may simply not be enough visible space in the car. In such cases, you will have to purchase ancillary equipment for the installation, which will also be helped by an experienced professional.

Some car enthusiasts mistakenly believe that the more powerful the installed audio system, the better the sound reproduction will be. However, this is not always the case. The rated power of acoustic equipment only indicates the limit to which the speakers can produce high-quality sound. Therefore, a system with a power of 10 to 20 watts is quite suitable for acceptable sound.

In addition to power, for optimal performance of the audio system in the passenger compartment, be sure to consider the logical distribution of the frequency of the audio signal.
