It's not worth talking about Mitsubishi Pajero SUVs, many people remember this model. The car is repeatedly found in various films, at off-road automobile exhibitions, and even more often on highways. Today, the manufacturer is releasing the 4th generation of the Mitsubishi Pajero 2018 SUV.

For the first time, the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV was introduced in 1982. The fourth generation of the SUV started its sales in 2006, but appeared on the territory of the CIS countries an order of magnitude later. Do not forget about the restyling of the 2018-2019 Mitsubishi Pajero SUV, which received minor, but clearly visible changes. In the countries of North America or Asia, the SUV is referred to as the Mitsubishi Montero. Also, the SUV should not be confused with the Sport option, in our case the manufacturer refers to it as Wagon.

By body type, the restyled Mitsubishi Pajero SUV is offered in two bodies for 3 and 5 doors. Unfortunately, on the territory of Russia, the novelty is available only in a 5-door version. The buyer was given only one engine and one gearbox to choose from, while the engineers retained the quality and reliability of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV. Another thing that the manufacturer is so silent about is that despite the positioning of the car as an SUV, in fact, the changes in the frame are large, most of the base rests on the body and two spars. In fact, the Mitsubishi Pajero is more of a crossover than a frame SUV.

Talking about the possibilities, modern body style and other details of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV is not worth it, since the car has been on the Russian market for several years, and even more so at full speed it is sold in dealerships. Most of the changes were made to the front and rear of the restyled Mitsubishi Pajero. The radiator grill has changed its shape and dimensions. We can say that the front bumper of the Mitsubishi Pajero has become more expressive, having received strict lines. The revision has not touched the hood of the SUV and the windshield, the heated bottom of the glass is available only in the maximum configuration. The hood is still adorned with two side lines from the grille to the A-pillars and a small centerline. As for the front optics of the new Mitsubishi Pajero, at first glance there are no changes, but in fact, the lenses, protective glass have been improved and an adaptive function has been added with the possibility of cornering lights. Xenon was used at the heart of the front optics, LED technology is not provided.

The side of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV has remained practically unchanged, plastic linings have been added, as well as the list of optional goods has been expanded. The plastic wheel arch protectors are now standard on the Mitsubishi Pajero. As before the restyling, the lower part of the doors is decorated with plastic overlays to match the body color, the door handles are painted in the color of the SUV body, in the same way as the mirror housings. A slight difference appeared in the rearview mirrors of the Mitsubishi Pajero, LED turn signal repeaters were added at the bottom of the body.

At the rear, the new Mitsubishi Pajero has changed with very minimal sweep. The changes were more likely to concern small design details than something very noticeable. The boot lid is large enough to not only load oversized loads with ease, but also easily sit on the third row of seats. This option was originally thought out in the new Mitsubishi Pajero, since in the case of loading the second row, you can get to the third row of seats only from the trunk. To do this, the manufacturer installed a special handle on the new Mitsubishi Pajero, with the ability to overturn the third row back.

The trunk lid itself can be opened according to the trunk principle, from the bottom up, or to the side, depending on the wishes and needs of the driver and passengers. The very top is decorated with a massive spoiler with LED turn signal. The end part of the cover, as before, is adorned with the spare wheel of Mitsubishi Pajero, at first it would seem that it is easy to remove it, but in fact you need to try very hard and do a line of operations from the passenger compartment in order to simply unscrew the decorative frame around the spare wheel. Therefore, there is nothing to fear that the spare wheel is behind the trunk, and someone might steal it.

The rear bumper of the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV has received stricter forms, in particular the lower part of the diffuser and side skirts. On the sides of the diffuser, rear halogen-based fog lights were placed; in some trim levels, the manufacturer will add another large fog light on the lower part of the spare wheel case. As for the rear stops, they remain the same, located on the body of the SUV, with well-defined blocks on a white background. One thing that the manufacturer did not improve in the new Mitsubishi Pajero is the lighting, for the most part the technologies have remained the same, explaining the reliability tested by time and conditions.

The last of the exterior of the updated Mitsubishi Pajero is the roof. In the basic configuration, the roof of the SUV is solid, with additional stiffeners at the rear. More expensive equipment Mitsubishi Pajero received a panoramic sunroof with an electric drive, but the most expensive equipment acquired a panoramic roof with a sliding front part.

The interior of the restyled Mitsubishi Pajero 2018 was not changed, so the front panel, in fact, remained the same as in the regular model. The center console is massive, with a raised top and a straight front. The very top of the dashboard is occupied by a monochrome display of the on-board computer with blue backlight. In previous generations, the manufacturer installed analog body tilt level sensors in this place, and a couple more at the request of the buyer. Now the on-board computer provides complete information about the state of the engine and the SUV as a whole, including the diagram of the unit's operation. The on-board display also displays information about the distance traveled, fuel consumption and control of security systems. To select a specific display mode or function, the manufacturer has placed a row of buttons near the display, as they say simply and reliably. A little lower, depending on the configuration and the needs of the buyer of the new Mitsubishi Pajero, an audio system or a multimedia system based on a touchscreen display will be located.

As an audio system, the manufacturer used a set from Rockford Fosgate, which includes 12 speakers and a 6-disc CD changer. The steering wheel of the new Mitsubishi Pajero SUV is still classic. Depending on the selected configuration, it can be simple or with wood-like inserts in the lower and upper parts. You can adjust both in height and depth. A small flaw lay on the function buttons on the spokes, the manufacturer Mitsubishi Pajero made them so large that the mobile communication control had to be transferred to the lower part of the steering wheel, thereby adding another button panel. On the other hand, the controls are easy and follow the commands without a miss.

The interior of the 4th generation Mitsubishi Pajero SUV leaves a pleasant impression. The manufacturer made it high-quality and strict, there are practically no changes, since it is quite satisfactory both for the price and for the configuration of the fans of the model. According to the owners, the golden mean is maintained in terms of price and quality.

If we talk about the technical characteristics of the updated Mitsubishi Pajero, then a lot will depend on the country where the SUV is sold. For each country, the manufacturer took into account the wishes, statistics of demand and sales of previous models, as well as climate features.
