SsangYong Turismo, better known to Russian consumers as SsangYong Stavic, first debuted on the world stage in 2004. It should be noted right away that the sales of the first generation of the company's minivan, which was taken off the assembly line in 2010, to put it mildly, left much to be desired, due to the unusual appearance of the car.

And now, 3 years later, within the framework of the Geneva Motor Show, the Korean automaker presented the second generation of the model, which received a completely redesigned exterior and interior, which became even more spacious and roomy.

By the way, 165 million dollars were spent on the creation of the new Turismo (Stavic), so let's try to figure out how rationally these funds were used and whether the Koreans managed to correct the mistake of past years and create not only a practical and roomy, but also a pleasant outwardly car.

Exterior SsangYong Turismo 2013

Compared to the previous model, the new SsangYong Turismo (Stavic) has become much more attractive, although it is still difficult to call it "handsome". However, if you look at the minivan segment as a whole, the Koreans managed to create a good car with a strict and not defiant appearance, made in the corporate style of the latest models of the company.

The front part of the car is distinguished by a massive front bumper with built-in foglights, a large false radiator grille with a new logo of the automaker in the center, as well as large shades of head optics. The hood of the minivan has received original stampings, making the front of the car more strict and aggressive.

Some questions are raised by the side of the minivan, which looks slightly overloaded due to the massive stern. The vehicle's profile is distinguished by large front and rear doors, large wheel arches and stylish alloy wheels. Optionally, roof rails can be placed on the roof of the car, increasing the already impressive cargo capacity of the car. The rear of the SsangYong Turismo received a large rectangular tailgate, a neat rear bumper and beautiful parking lights.

The dimensions of the updated minivan have practically not changed and have the following parameters:

  • Length - 513 cm;
  • Width - 191.5 cm;
  • Height - 181.5 cm (including roof rails - 185 cm);
  • Wheelbase impressive and is 300 cm.

The car received quite an impressive ground clearance: 18.5 cm in front and 20 cm in the rear, thanks to which you can easily storm almost any curbs on it, and also not be afraid of "speed bumps". Even simple numbers are enough to understand that the car is not just big, but really huge, which can accommodate up to 11 people!

Customers can choose from five body colors, including: white, silver, gray, wine red and black.

Interior of the new SsangYong Turismo 2013

Despite the fact that the exterior of the car aroused great interest among the world community, the main feature of the new SsangYong Turismo was the interior, which became even more spacious and roomy. When creating the salon, the designers and designers were guided by two principles: comfort and the possibility of transformation, where everything is fine with the first and the second.

The front panel has an original architecture with a dashboard located in the center of the dashboard. By the way, right in front of the driver there is also a small display, which displays the most important information: speed, fuel consumption and mileage, so that the driver does not have to look sideways at the center panel.

In addition to the main unit of the instrument panel, in the center of the dashboard there is a multimedia and entertainment complex with a large touchscreen display, as well as an original microclimate control unit.

Even lower is the gearbox, which is located on a special pedestal. A rather large four-spoke steering wheel with 8 control buttons for the on-board computer and the audio system in the car deserves special attention.

The car has as many as four rows of seats that allow you to take on board as many as 11 people. The driver's and front passenger's seats are comfortable, have good lateral support and a wide range of adjustments.

The second or fourth row of seats can accommodate 3 people each, while even on the last row of seats, not only a child / teenager, but also an adult can sit quite easily. The seats of the 2nd and 3rd rows can be moved independently of each other inside the car, while the center seat can be completely removed, which will allow passengers to feel more at ease.

The designers in charge of the interior have done a great job, as all the seats have a large amount of variation for transformation.

So, if necessary, the second-row seats can be easily converted into travel tables. In addition, by expanding the seats in a special way, you can get three full-fledged sleeping places, which will especially appeal to those who like to travel.

The quality of the materials used does not cause any special complaints, the fit of the details is on the level. Add here a large number of shelves, hooks, pockets and containers for various small items and you have one of the most functional salons in the class.

The maximum boot capacity can reach an impressive 3240 liters, which allows the car to be used as a small cargo van.

Conclusion on the new Sang Yong Tourism 2013

The updated SsangYong Turismo (Stavic) 2013 is a completely new car, not only externally, but also internally, where the main emphasis was on maximum comfort, spaciousness and functionality.

The car is ready to offer a wide list of standard and optional equipment, good dynamic and impressive efficiency characteristics, which are by no means associated with a 5-meter minivan and weighing under 2 tons. Of course, the car does not claim to be the best in the class, but it has practically no equal in terms of the number of variations in the transformation of the interior and spaciousness.
